Reading: Children, Spaces, Relations – Metaproject for an environment for young children by Giulio Ceppi et al (Part 1)

The surrounding environment in an Early Childhood Learning Centre, plays an important role in the childs learning. “The environment has certain functions (correcting the tones of ligh, hihglighting the identieis of certain spaces) and at the same time must contain all the objects displayed and used, the childrens products, the furniture and instruments of commincation, as well as the children themselves, without covering everything with an initial dominant colour” (p.g. 66). By saturating a space in primary colours this not only aesthetically exhausts the educators, but it also over stimulates the children, decreasing the amount of time for learning and play.
